Privacy

Privacy

Merezhyvo is designed to be privacy-friendly and does not include telemetry.

What we do NOT collect

The browser and this site are built without tracking.

  • No tracking, analytics, or telemetry
  • No account system
  • No remote syncing of history, bookmarks, or passwords by the app itself

What is stored locally

Browsing data stays on your device inside the app sandbox.

  • History and bookmarks
  • Cookies and site data
  • Saved passwords (when enabled), protected by a master password when configured

Ubuntu Touch confinement keeps this data local; other apps cannot read it directly.

Cookies & site data

First-party cookies come from the site you visit and keep sessions active. Third-party cookies come from embedded content or ads hosted elsewhere. They can be used for cross-site tracking. Third-party cookie blocking can be enabled; it may improve privacy but some sites or embeds could break. Adjust as needed if a site fails to load content.

Tracker & ads blocking

The browser can block known tracking or advertising domains using built-in lists. It is domain-based and may not remove every ad. Some controls may be available per site for compatibility.

Tor (optional)

You can route traffic via the Tor network as an optional layer. Merezhyvo is not the official Tor Browser and does not include all fingerprinting protections. Use careful browsing habits for sensitive activity and consider Tor best practices when needed.

  • Tor and regular browsing are isolated: no cookie or site-data crossover.
  • Secure DNS (DoH) is supported; it turns off automatically while Tor is enabled.

Platform notes: Ubuntu Touch

  • File access is confined to the app sandbox.
  • Some hardware APIs (camera, microphone, geolocation) may be restricted or unavailable.
  • Clipboard separation can exist between apps or modes.
